Homework 30/09/2016

Dear students,

Your Homework for next week is:

In Numeracy: Complete the worksheet you were given on Thursday the 29th of September. Additionally, since this week we have been working on various strategies to perform mental calculations, sign in Mathletics and practise using different strategies on Live Mathletics on the suitable level (3 to 6) to reinforce your learning.

In Literacy: Read the second chapter of our focus book, The adventures of Odysseus, and investigate meanings of unknown words. Be ready for Monday the 3rd of October.

Student council: This week you were introduced to the Student Council activities in our school. Decide if you want to put yourself forward to be a councillor (this weekend) and prepare to convince your class to vote for you (next week). You will need to prepare a short presentation (e.g.Powerpoint)/ Poster stating your reasons/ideas why you will make a good councillor of our class or of Early Years classes in our case. 🙂

Have a wonderful weekend!

Best wishes,

Ms Chalkiopoulou

Homework 23/09/2016

Dear students,

Your Homework for next week is:

In Literacy: Think about Penelope, Odysseus’ wife in our story. What sort of character is she? How would she have coped with the trials over the 19 years she had to put up with the suitors?Re-read the copied extract of the first chapter you were given on Monday the 19th of September. Your task is to draw an image of Penelope at her loom, looking out to sea, or with the suitors, and annotate it (E.g. Which must be her thoughts? How would you describe her as a character?). This piece of Homework is due to Monday 26th of September.

In Numeracy: Complete the worksheets you were given on Friday the 23rd of September.

In IPC: Next week we are introducing a new Topic in IPC: ‘Black, Gold The oil industry’. For the introduction of the unit you will need to look at some examples of recent oil spills from around the world and see how people and wildlife are affected. Find an interesting piece of news along with some pictures which show the effects of oil spill in different places of the world.
