Compound words

We have been working hard on compound words in Mrs Hagenaars’ phase 5 and 6 Phonics group.

Here is a video which will help to extend your learning further. If you do not know the meaning of the words which Mr Thorne mentions, please look them up. This will help to extend your vocabulary further.

Measuring fun

The children have been challenging themself to measure accurately in M, cm and mm. They have compared data and challenged themselves to answer tricky questions, for example, is a persons height 10x the length of their foot?

Can you make a square which is exactly 4.5m?

Revolting Rhymes

As part of our Book Week celebration we have been looking at the story of Little Red Riding Hood as told in the book ‘Revolting Rhymes’ by Roald Dahl. It is a twist on the well known children’s traditional tale.

We also looked at the tale of The Three Little Pigs.

The children really enjoyed these tales 😀
