In math, we learned data, percentage, graphs, and charts. I think that it was a fun unit especially doing the graphs and coloring them. I really liked one of the test which was formative because we had to do an activity with skittles I think it was a fun way of learning and understanding. I didn’t really like doing the tests because I don’t really like them in general. I learned many things in this unit. I was really worried about the summative test because it was kind of hard cause I never really learned about percentages.

Self Assessment Unit 3

Sofia Brillaxis

  1.  How am I doing?

I think I’m doing good because I’m trying my hardest and I’m really happy for one of my scores which are 8/8.  I think I could’ve done even better but I know I tried my hardest in the rest of the tests.  In the end of the unit test I got a 6/8 and now I understand the mistakes I did.

  1.  What am I good at?

I think I’m good at drawing diagrams maybe not the best but I’m good at it.  I always hand in my homework on time and that is a good thing.  I like taking part in a group because I’m friends with mostly everyone in the class, I’m better at it when I’m in a group and not a partner.

  1.  How do I know I am good at these things?

I think I’m good in these things because I find them easy and I like doing them. I also know I’m good at these things because I practice to do them so I can improve.

  1.  What do I need to work on?

I need to work on my graph skills so I draw them nice and straight.  Drawing tables neatly because usually I mess up and you can see the mark of the pencil because I pressed too hard.  Answering questions fully and with details.

  1.  How do I know that I need to work on these things?

I know I need to work on my graphs and drawing tables because they are sometimes messy and they don’t look good on my book/test.  I also need to answer my questions fully because I don’t put in every single detail or I miss out things that were important to write.

  1.  What targets do I want to set myself?

One of my targets is to improve the quality and presentations of my work.  I’m also going to try to work harder in class so I finish more work.

  1.  How am I going to achieve these targets?

I think my targets could be achievable, I’m going to make the quality of my work better by being neater and being more prepared, also to plan what I’m going to do before actually doing it.

  1.    What time scale am I going to set myself to complete these targets?

I’m going to try to do it by my next self-assessment, and try it as soon as possible.

  1.  Are completing self-assessments like this useful for your development in Science?

They are useful because I know what I need to work on for my previous work, they also kind of tell me what I’m good at and what I don’t have to work on that much.

Reflection Little Things

Hey Everyone,

I found this unit very interesting and fun i liked doing all does weird but cool experiments. What i didn’t like is that we had to do tests but I don’t like that in any subject. I think next Unit is also going to be really cool and interesting, I wouldn’t really do this again because i would probably get a bit bored of it and i think it’s better to do it only ones.

Self Assessment Science

Our unit is called “Introduction to Science” and we had to do a Self Assessment and mine is below:

Mrs MC Doherty van Zundert

SELF ASSESSMENT – Science

My name: Sofia Brillaxis           Date: 18 of november 2016

The unit I have just finished is:

Introduction to science

My score in the end of unit test was:

I got a 6 for the end of my unit test.

For the lab report I got:  B 5 and C 4

I was happy / not happy with these results because:

I wasn’t very happy with my score because I know I can do it better and try even harder next time and I’m going to try to get a better score.

In general:

How am I doing?

I’m doing ok. I could do better and try to make all of my work neater. I’m also doing good because the teacher explains good and speaks clearly and she tries to teach us in a fun way, and that makes me want to come to Science everyday.

What I am good at?

I’m good at doing the bar charts except I have to colour them in neater. I think I’m also good at the end of unit test because I tried my hardest and my score  wasn’t the best but it was good.

How do I know I am good at these things?

Well I’m good at this thing because I enjoy doing them, I find them very fun and my score was good in these things.

I found the previous unit – Introduction to Science…….

I found it a bit hard because in Primary we did Science but not good and actual Science and I kind of forgot everything I did in my old school so it was tricky for me.

What I found difficult was…

Learning all the equipment and learning all the thing we did in class but I find it normal because it’s the first time I do actual Science in a lab, with all the Science equipment.

What helped me when I had a problem was…

I tried my best doing it and learning it and studying it also if I had a question I asked for help and then I learned it also when i made my mistakes I learned from them and I now know how to do them.

What I enjoyed in this unit was…

I enjoyed learning about Mrs Nerg and doing experiment in the classroom, also I enjoyed doing the bar charts.

What I didn’t like in this unit was…

Having to do the lab report wasn’t so fun I rather do something else.

What do I need to work on?

I need to work on the lab report and on the knowledge test.

How do I know that I need to work on these things?

Because my grades weren’t so  great and I need to try harder

How am I going to achieve these targets?

By trying harder studying more and listening at all times. Also by listening to the tips people give to improve my work and sentences.

What time scale am I going to set myself to complete these targets?

I’ll try to do it by then end of this unit or maybe next month.

Are completing self-assessments like this useful for your development in Science?  Why?

I do think they are helpful because then you can look back through the thing you need to work on to improve and get better grades. Also to see thing you didn’t enjoy or did.
