Earth Hour 2016

“As the world stands at a climate crossroads, it is powerful yet humbling to think that our actions today will decide what tomorrow will look like for generations to come. This Earth Hour, switch on your social power to shine a light on action. This is our time to ‪#‎ChangeClimateChange‬ … our future starts today.” – the Earth Hour organisers

Last Saturday, March 18, I participated in the global awareness, Earth Hour. In this hour people raise an awareness for global warming by turning of all the lights for one hour. By doing this the world was seen for majority in the dark.

It is a global value to stand still with what is happening to this world. I think doing this through a world wide event is really good. This way people will think of it next year again and it will become a yearly thing for more and more families.

For me it was a challenge to get my whole family to participate. Due to the fact that my family was busy with paperwork and needed light. After a brief introduction of how important this event is, I was able to convince them. This shows my commitment in making the event work.

I think that as a teenager it was really good to be a part of something like this and I will continue participating over the years.

Homework Question: Which of the videos shown to you about electricity (lemon, egg and pickle) do you believe to be true/false and why? I believe that the experiment is not possible due to the fact that I think that one lemon will not satisfy when wanted to produce electricity. On the other hand I think that the experiment with the egg is possible.
