The 19th of March there was an event called the Earth Hour which is basically an hour where people turn off all their lights to help the global warming and climate change in the Earth. I personally raised awareness of the topic and also showed initiative to tell my relatives and friends about it in order to help everyone more so more people know what Earth Hour is. It was also challenging because normally we all use light and it was difficult to keep all the lights off in day time. With the commitment part I really had to manage myself to not use the lights and to tell my parents not to use the lights neither. This is also a global value because it affects everyone worldwide.
Feedback Mind your own business
In this unit we learned a lot of different type of content, and different topics, making the unit have a lot of variety. We had different ways of learning from presentations to taking notes from the board and doing games such as making our own business of paper boxes and knowing which team was the most reliable. We also had to do some homework and complete some sheets which was a bit boring but good to learn new things. Overall I think the unit was really good and it had a lot of assignments which makes us learn more. I am very happy of the final results.

Elvis Aaron Presley(January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977) was an American singer and actor. Presley was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, and when he was 13 years old, he and his family relocated to Memphis, Tennessee. His music career began there in 1954, when he recorded a song with producer Sam Phillips at Sun Records. In November 1956, he made his film debut in Love Me Tender. In 1958, he was drafted into military service. He resumed his recording career two years later, producing some of his most commercially successful work before the 1960s to make Hollywood movies and their accompanying soundtrack albums, most of which were critically judged. In 1968, following a seven-year break from live performances, he returned to the stage in the acclaimed televised comeback special Elvis, which led to an extended Las Vegas concert residency and a string of highly good tours. In 1973, Presley was featured in the first globally broadcast concert via satellite, Aloha from Hawaii. Several years of prescription drug abuse severely damaged his health, and he died in 1977 at the age of 42.
Elvis best hits and most famous songs were: Can’t help falling in love, Jailhouse rock, In the Ghetto, If I can dream, Suspicious Minds. These were one of the best and that had more impact on the society, made by the artist Elvis Presley.
His manager lived in Breda till he was 19 then he went with elvis helping him on every concert and managing everything and he remained there till the death of the Rock and Roll.
Elvis Presley music is way different from the actual type of music and so that it might not be my type of music neither cause they are really slow tracks and the songs themselves are not my type, I have to say this artist made a really good job writing and composing the songs and for the people who like how he sings is just the perfect artist for a lot of people.
Some of Elvis Presley Best Songs:
My ride to school, first I set of from Antwerp to Breda by car, 3/4 of the ride is during the highway.
The all ride’s distance its about 61 km by car it takes about 45 to 50 minutes and by bike it would take 2h and 57 minutes and by public transport 3 hours.
The average speed by car is: 122 km per hour
The average speed by public transport is: 50 km per hour
Is the fastest transportation and the most comfortable
The advantages are that you get really fast to your destination and it’s secure and comfortable
Disadvantages no workout out needed, use of co2 contaminates and pollutes the ozone layer and it is also an expensive transport.
Going by bike or any other transports would make it take longer and it wouldn’t be as comfortable as it is by car but no pollution would be cause in conclusion you should avoid using fuel cars.
Sunday was the water day and the teacher asked that to record how much water did we use in one day and what could we have done to use less amount of water and contribute with this day.
How many times did you use water, for what?
I flashed the toilet 3 times in total and also showered for about 5 to 10 minutes, also washed my hand about 5 times.
How can I save water?
Trying to shower with less intensity or just a bit quicker to save some water, same as my family quickly wash their hands don’t take too much time and also don’t let any tap open or wait for the hot water to come out.
Why would you want to save water?
Saving water is really useful for the community because even though the water costs money same goes for gas and electricity there are many people that can’t drink purified water whenever they want so I think it also helps that and the wild.
In this service and action task we went to a food bank to help poor people by originating their food for example milk, cans, sauces, pasta etc. After that we took a break and then we started again working on the service. I think today we helped a lot our society and it was not that boring because we used a lot of teamwork and it was fun helping people that really need it. I also think that the cultural slam week is nice to help people and learn some culture from different places.
The 1960s were a decade of revolution and change in politics, music and society around the world. It started in the United States and the United Kingdom, and spread to continental Europe and other parts of the globe. The 1960s were an era of protest. In the civil rights movement blacks and whites protested against the unfair treatment of races. Towards the end of the decade more and more Americans protested against the war in Vietnam. Many people in the United States thought that Americans had no reason to fight in war that was so far away from home.
Also in the sixties there were more changes as the different type of music and the revolutions that people had during that era, Popular music entered an era of “all hits”, as numerous artists released recordings, beginning in the 1950s, as 45-rpm “singles” (with another on the flip side), and radio stations tended to play only the most popular of the wide variety of records being made. Also, bands tended to record only the best of their songs as a chance to become a hit record. The taste of the American listeners expanded from the folksinger, doo-wop and saxophone sounds of the 1950s to the Motown sound, folk rock and the British Invasion led by The Beatles in 1964. The Los Angeles and San Francisco Sound began in this period with many popular bands coming out of LA and the Haight-Ashbury district, well known for its hippie culture. The rise of the counterculture movement, particularly among the youth, created a market for rock, soul, pop, reggae and blues music.
Important facts, artists and what they did and more during this era:
Elvis Presley returned to civilian life in the U.S. after two years away in the U.S. Army. He resumes his musical career by recording “It’s Now or Never” and “Are You Lonesome Tonight?” in March 1960.
Motown Record Corporation was founded in 1960. Its first Top Ten hit was “Shop Around” by the Miracles in 1960. “Shop Around” peaked at number-two on the Billboard Hot 100, and was Motown’s first million-selling record.
Folksinger and activist Joan Baez released her debut album on Vanguard Records in December 1960.
The Marvelettes scored Motown Record Corporation’s first US #1 pop hit, “Please Mr. Postman” in 1961. Motown would score 110 Billboard Top-Ten hits during its run.
The Four Seasons released three straight number one hits
In a widely anticipated and publicized event, The Beatles arrive in America in February 1964, spearheading the British Invasion.
The Mary Poppins Original Soundtrack tops record charts. Sherman Brothers receive Grammys and double Oscars.
Lesley Gore at age 17 hits number one on Billboard with “It’s My Party” and number two with “You Don’t Own Me” behind the Beatles “I Want To Hold Your Hand.”
The Supremes scored twelve number-one hit singles between 1964 and 1969, beginning with “Where Did Our Love Go”.
The Kinks release “You Really Got Me” in August 1964, which tops the British charts; it is regarded as the first hard rock hit and a blueprint for related genres, such as heavy metal.
Graffiti Black-book: I really like this design of this kind of multi genre project due to the well explained steps and all you need to know about the graffitis, how to do them and a lot of interesting facts everyone must be curious about, it also has nice drawing and pictures to show people what this genre is really about finally it also has a lot of different genres to explain the graffitis I really like it personally.

Video Games: This multi genre project is my favourite one due to the fact I like video games a lot and this person’s project is all about games and there are also a lot of genres were you can find an explanation of it a poem a diary entry etc so if you are interested on video games how were they made and how re the now a days one created just have a look at this awesome project I think is really well organised and even though it is not a big project compared to others I find it quite nice and easy to understand and learn from the thoughts of the author of this project.
In this post I’m going to mention three of the topic I wonder most about.
Why? I think this topic is really interesting for me because no one really knows anything about it there are a lot of theories, but we don’t really know what happens after you die do you go to heaven? hell? do you maybe reincarnate into a different animal like a dog or an ant? and maybe depends on how friendly or badly things you did you become a better live animal like cats, dogs etc. I came with this topic because many years ago I’ve been thinking about it and because there is barely any information in the interest that is completely true, I couldn’t really know so I wonder about it even thou there are some theories in the internet there are not true, as I said just thinkings of people not the real information.
Why? Big bang is a really good topic where there is a lot of research to do about, you can research about stars, asteroids, planets etc. For me what Im really curious about is how did the explosion caused since people say before that explosion there was nothing in space and that’s a thing I’m always thinking about, also the stars are something really interesting that someone could look at so it’s also something I will wonder to know a bit more. I came with this topic because is really interesting and it’s also good to know where you really come from and how world was made. However there are people that thinks big bang is not that true so they believe in gods who created earth and space there are a lot of theories about who created as and Im really curious to know more bout this explosion.
Why? Ghosts is a really weird topic and most of the people do not believe them but there are always this movies, shows, or internet information that makes you be really curious about it and wonder if there are really ghosts being you right know? What if all your death friends or family members have been watching you after they died all this time what if they are whispering but you cannot hear them because they are dead. This topic is also a bit scary but its always good to know this kind of things. I came with this topic because there was also a lot of information in the internet about stories of ghost having seen or sounds on the roof of ruin houses, this topic is also really spiritual as zombies and gods.
Big bang is the topic I may be doing because it has a lot of things to talk about and space in general really piques my curiosity now a days.
