Is time travel possible?
During physics, we have been discussing about the possibility of time traveling, so, is it possible?
First of all, traveling to the past would be impossible because you could meet yourself and change what already happened. Example: you are not able to kill someone who is alive in the time you come from, but what is going to stop you from killing him/her?
Traveling to the future is theoretically possible, but a substance faster than light is needed for this and it has not been discovered yet.
This unit has been related to share and the stock market. We had to give a presentation about the stock market and we also had to answer a research question. My research question was: until what point does a shareholder own part of a company? This presentation was useful because I had to research how companies were doing in the stock market and deciding how I would invest my money. I also learnt new vocabulary.
The most successful bands in terms of music during the sixties were the Beatles and the the Rolling Stones. The components of the Beatles were all British and the band was created in 1960 in Liverpool. The members were John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Pete Best, Stuart Sutcliffe and Ringo Starr. John Lennon died on the December the 8th 1980 in New York, George Harrison died on November the 29th 2011 in Los Angeles and Stuart Sutcliffe died on April the 10th 1962, at the age of 21. The members of the Rolling Stones were all British, just as the Beatles. They were called Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Roonie Wood, Brian Jones, Ian Stewart, Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor. Brian Jones and Ian Stewart, are dead. Brian Jones died on July the 3rd 1969 and Ian Stewart died on December the 12th 1985.
The Summer of Love was a social phenomenon that occurred during the summer of 1967, when as many as 100,000 people converged in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco. Although hippies also gathered in major cities across the U.S., Canada and Europe, San Francisco remained the epicenter of the social earthquake that would come to be known as the Hippie Revolution. Like its sister enclave of Greenwich Village, the city became even more of a melting pot of politics, music, drugs, creativity, and the total lack of sexual and social inhibition than it already was. As the hippie counterculture movement came farther and farther forward into public awareness, the activities centered therein became a defining moment of the 1960s, causing numerous ordinary citizens to begin questioning everything and anything about them and their environment as a result. This unprecedented gathering of young people is often considered to have been a social experiment, because of all the alternative lifestyles which became more common and accepted such as gender equality, communal living, and free love. Many of these types of social changes reverberated on into the early 1970s, and effects echo throughout modern society. The hippies, sometimes called flower children, were an eclectic group. Many were suspicious of the government, rejected consumerist values, and generally opposed the Vietnam War. A few were interested in politics; others focused on art or religious and meditative movements. All were eager to integrate new ideas and insights into daily life, both public and private.
During this task, we had to create a song for a piece of kung fu panda’s film. I created this song on garageband. It was hard to decide what sounds to add and when to add them. I also downloaded the song called “everybody was kung fu fighting” and I added it at the end of the video. It took me a long time to download the audio because it wasn’t working.
Noise pollution created by airplanes can really bother people and stress them out. But reducing the amount of airplanes is not the only way of reducing noise pollution. Bigger airplanes could be created so they can carry more people so the airport doesn’t need the same amount of airplanes anymore. The minimum altitude for airplanes could be increased, this way people who live near airports would not be as affected as before.
1) What did you enjoy about this unit?
I enjoyed solving challenging questions.
2) What you found easy
I found solving fractional indices and surds pretty easy.
3) What you found difficult
The first day, surds seemed hard to solve.
4) What helped you when you were stuck
Sometimes my calculator and other times the teacher.
5) What could you do to improve?
I could work harder and study more before the exam.
6) Name at least one skill you learnt which you can use in another unit
Now I am better at solving square roots.
In this unit we had to choose two free-wares and make a video tutorial of them. We had to make a design problem and explain why we wanted to make a tutorial. My design problem was complete and well explained that is what went well. What didn’t went well: my source evaluation, I have to improve on that. I think I could do better for the next summative we will have.
In this unit, we have been studying the first world war. The first world war was a war which began in 1914 and ended un 1918. This war is important because it caused a lot of deaths, a lot of countries were involve. There is a lot of factors which are thought to be the main raison of the start of the first world war: nationalism in the Balkans, the assassination of the archduke of Austria-Hungary and Germany trying to invade other countries.
Safety rules don’t have anything to do with being courageous or not. If you are not wearing safety googles or a lab coat during an experiment, that is not being courageous, that is just being dumb. Safety rules specify that we cannot make risky decisions while during an experiment. I think that most part of the safety rules are necessary. For example, the one about tying up your hair (just if you have got long hair) you could burn your hair by not being careful while lighting the bunsen burner.
In this unit we have been recording a song in pairs, studying classical music and we have researched about a classical composer. I have researched about Johann Sebastian Bach. For the song we have created, I have been recording with Julius. We both have played been the piano. I have improved a bit since last time I played piano.
